Getting
Married

Couples
marry under the authority of a special license that takes
approximately two working days to process.
Couples must present proof of citizenship of their resident
country. These documents are most likely the same documents
that you will need to fulfill entry requirements when
visiting Anguilla; your passport or an original birth
certificate accompanied by a photo identification such
as a driver's license.
If applicable, a divorce or death certificate must be
present.
If one partner resides in Anguilla for at lease fifteen
days before the date of marriage, the cost of the license
is US$40.
If the stay is shorter, the cost of the license is $284
representing stamp duty.
Must have two witnesses.
If you plan to marry in Anguilla, contact the Minister
and the Magistrate at 264-497-2377 or 264-497-3477.
There are plenty of churches on Anguilla if couples are
planning more traditional tropical nuptials. Establishments
of the following religions are on the island:
- 7th
Day Adventist
- Baptist
- Catholic*
- Church
of Christ
- Church
of God
- Lutheran
- Methodist
- Anglican
Please
note: Marriage requirements for a wedding in the Catholic
Church also require:
- Confirmation
papers
- Baptismal
certificate
- Freedom
to Marry papers
- Pre
