| Located
in the western interior of Belize, Cayo is a 1500 square
mile district that encompasses a good portion of the Maya
Mountains and has more than its fair share of ancient
Maya sites to visit and explore. To the east is the capital
city of Belmopan and to the far west, visitor friendly
San Ignacio, the main city of the district. Between the
two lie a world of forests teeming with wildlife and immaculately
beautiful tropical watersheds catered to by a variety
of jungle and river lodges to suit any style, budget and
adventure. |

| The
award-winning Chaa Creek has pioneered natural history
travel to Belize since 1981 and is Belize’s premier destination
for a wide range of adventures. The 345-acre nature reserve
on the Macal River hosts an internationally recognized
Natural History Centre, Butterfly Farm, Rainforest Medicine
Trail, miles of trails for walking, birding, mountain
biking or horseback riding, a fleet of canoes, exquisite
spa, conference centre, and access to Belize’s Maya archaeological
sites. Some 250 species of birds have been sighted within
the reserve. Chaa Creek’s Cottages are set in lush tropical
gardens nestled along the riverside in the foothills of
the Maya Mountains. The cottage compound, within the Chaa
Creek Nature Reserve, provides a perfect compromise between
comfort and a true wilderness experience. The spa, within
easy walking distance of the lodge, will ensure that your
body and spirit are in perfect shape to make the most
of Belize's numerous attractions. The relaxed atmosphere
at Chaa Creek stimulates you to unwind slowly to the rhythms
of nature and enjoy your fascinating new environment in
an elegant, yet simple style. Additionally the Macal River
Camp features 10 fully screened casitas, each having either
two or four comfortable beds and a private sheltered porch.

rooms including two Garden Suites or a Complete Garden
Suite with Jacuzzi, two Tree Top Jacuzzi Suites, an Orchard

riverside in a setting of unmatched beauty and tranquility.

Our guests do not need to travel far to create
their own tropical adventures. Within Chaa Creeks
private 365-acre nature reserve there are miles of well
maintained trails for guided horseback riding, mountain
biking, and nature walks. You may also wish to canoe,
bird, and explore our extensive trail system and onsite
archaeological sites on your own, or simply relax
in your hammock with binoculars or a good book. |

** Family Summer Adventure **
From May 1, The Lodge at Chaa Creek is offering a "Family
Summer Adventure", which includes accommodations,
breakfast and dinner, daytime and sunset canoe trips in
the Macal River and visits to the resort's Natural History
Centre and Butterfly Farm. Guests can also choose from
a horseback ride under the rainforest canopy or a mountain
bike tour and nature walks and jungle hikes.
The
rates for the Family Summer Adventure are:
- U.S. $1,261.00 per adult for a seven night stay and
U.S. $924.00 per adult for a five night stay.
- U.S. $347.00 for Children between the ages of 13 and
17 years old for a seven night stay, and U.S. $266.00
for a five-night stay.
- U.S. $84.00 for children between the ages of 6 and 12
years old for a seven night stay and U.S. $76.00 for a
five night stay.
Children between the ages of 1 - 5 stay free. Meals are
free for children ages 1 - 12 years old.
