Area Description

Sir Thomas' at Toucan Sittee, Ltd. is located between the Garifuna Village of Hopkins(3 mi.) and the Kreol Village of Sittee Village(2 mi.) on the banks of the Sittee River, approximately 30 miles from Dangriga in the Stann Creek District and 5 miles upstream from the Caribbean. Vegetation is a combination of dense jungle and savannahs with abundant jungle birds,animal wildlife,and flowers. The Sittee River is home to manatees, tarpon, barracuda, crocodile, etc.
Property Description

Sir Thomas' is situated on 18 acres of pristine jungle with a dock on 450' of frontage on the banks of the beautiful Sittee River. We can dock a 40' Cat. Recently, Sir Thomas' opened its 15 acre TaTaDehundee Wildlife Park and Bird Sanctuary. The best birding in Belize with recommendations from the Belize Audubon Society. Observation blinds and feed/water stations have been constructed. Canoe/kayak trips are available from TaTa, down Boom Creek and back to Sir Thomas'. We are right next door to the Glover Atoll de/embarkation point.
Accommodations

Accommodations are comprised of 6 screened in (+ 2 screened porches), wood framed, elevated jungle bungalows, each with its own private jungle view toilet, lavatory and shower facilities. All with hot water and American Serta pillow top mattress' and box springs (King & XL twins) straight from America. "You can enjoy our creatures without sacrificing creature comforts". We provide meals and beverages from a large commercial kitchen.
If you really want the jungle experience, such as the night time scream or hiss of the Jaguar, or a visit from a Night Walker or Kinkajou and definitely the early morning cacophony of Parrots, Toucans and other creatures, then avail yourself of our camping and RV parking facilities in TaTa with cool showers and compost toilets. We strongly suggest that guests rent a vehicle while they are in country because there is so much to see. We provide transportation for a fee to various areas. Please see our "Rate" page on our website.

Directions

We are South of Belize City, about 15 minutes by Commuter plane (Mayan & Tropic Air) to Dangriga or 3.5 hours by car/bus/taxi. From Dangriga we are 30 minutes south on the Southern Hwy...Take the Sittee Village turn off(marked--and not the Hopkins turnoff), look for our sign, turn left and we are about 6 miles from Hwy. Also, Google us..Google>Map..then type in Sir Thomas' at Toucan Sittee...look for blue balloons over Belize. Right next door to the Glover Atoll de/embarkation point.
